What are we looking for? Futures is recruiting for a Business Development Manager to work as part of the Business Development Team based at our headquarters in Nottingham (though with significant opportunities for home working) to manage and oversee the work of the bid specialists and company’s bidding and funding function, identifying, developing and submitting funding bids in support of the financial sustainability and growth of the organisation. What will the role do? The Business Development Manager will provide management support to the Head of Business Development & Stakeholder Partnerships, coordinating all aspects of the team’s bidding processes: identification and development of bidding opportunities, leadership and oversight of the bid management plan, research to inform bid content, consultation with stakeholders, bid writing, bid submission and contracting successful bids that are handed over to Futures operational delivery teams What are the finer points about the role? The successful candidate will develop a strategy for horizon-scanning and web scraping for bidding opportunities in the careers, employment, skills and community regeneration sectors, assessing opportunities and presenting them to the Head of Business Development & Stakeholder Partnerships. They will outline and manage all stages of the bid management process including objectives, milestones, actions, input required from other parts of the business, as well as timescales to submit high quality bids to deadlines set by funders. They will maintain a bid library and develop performance reporting for bidding and funding, setting KPIs for the bid specialists and developing reports with the Head of BDSP that show progress against the company’s business plan growth objectives.
